Cracked Glass
Four ways to put a hole in a CRT. In every study the gap is a real cut — a clip-path bite out of the teal desktop — and the machine behind the glass shows through it. One seeded generator draws it all: fracture-chord rims, kinked radial hairlines, conchoidal arcs, crumb cells.
Impact Web
spiderwebThe classic “something hit the screen” read: a fist-sized punch-through dead centre, twelve radial hairlines kinking outward, three conchoidal arcs tying them into a web. Each hairline is two strokes — a blurred dark shadow under a bright core — the way a real crack both blocks and catches light.
Corner Bite
live on /machine ↗The exact recipe running on /machine, same seed and all: the top-right corner snapped clean off — one jagged fracture edge sweeps from the top of the screen to the right side, and the quarter-moon chunk between it and the corner is simply gone. Frosted crush zone, bright fracture face, radials running into the glass that remains.
Crumb Halo
crushed rimThe rim crumbles instead of running: a halo of tiny crushed cells packed around the hole, short stubby radials, one faint arc. Closest to how a thick laminated tube face actually fails — the energy spends itself pulverising the edge instead of racing across the screen.
Long Runners
branching cracksA small entry wound low on the tube, but the energy went sideways: long branching runners wander clear across the screen, forking as they go, and stop dead at the bezel — because the glass does. Minimal hole, maximal drama.
